Tomato and basil season is upon us, and you’ll be pleased to know how to make this wonderful Sicilian pesto from Trapani province that features fresh tomatoes, basil, and garlic and almonds. Upon reservation, you’ll be able to access a list of the ingredients and materials you’ll need to participate.
Please plan to cook with me because then I can answer any questions you may have and by the time we finish, you’ll have fresh pesto for your dinner! This is an easy recipe that will be great for the summer!
While we’re cooking, I’ll talk about the highlights of western Sicily—which has extraordinary sites like Segesta, Selinunte, Erice, the ancient salt pans and windmills, and so much more.
Make It Authentic!
To make this evening even more special, in anticipation, you may want to order the special tumminia grain busiate pasta from Castelveltrano traditionally eaten with Trapani style pesto, and while you’re at it, how about almonds from Noto, olive oil from Chiaramonte Gulfi, and salt from the Marsala and Trapani salt pans! Our friends at Gustiamo.com are offering you a 10% discount on orders when you use the code LoveExperienceSicily upon checkout.
We recommend these authentic Sicilian products:
- Tumminia Busiate from Molini del Ponte in Castelveltrano, Sicily (We’ve visited the mill!)
- Peeled Noto Romana Almonds
- Pianogrillo Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Fine Sea Salt from Trapani Sale di Gucciardo
