Gentle yoga practice and discussion with certified instructor Clio Mallin and Experience Sicily’s Allison Scola

It’s mid-winter, and although many of us want to resist the colder and darker days, embracing them may reap more rewards. Take an opportunity to embrace the cocoon of winter, when your seeds of promise are below the surface. Winter is a time to relax, quiet down, connect to what’s important, pause, and listen to inner wisdom.
Led by certified yoga instructor Clio Mallin, the host of our future Yoga in Sicily tour, this practice session will help create balance in the body/mind/heart and be grounding, yet also help you create spaciousness in which to nurture the seeds of intention, as they relax into a more expansive state.
Allison Scola, owner/curator of Experience Sicily will discuss how we, like Queen of the Underworld Persephone, can embrace all that this season offers according to the goddess’ ancient myth that still today pervades life in Sicily.
We suggest you have a yoga mat, a strap, and blocks (a stack of books will do too!) for this practice.
Meet Your Yoga Instructor Clio Mallin
Clio Mallin has a deep appreciation for beauty and heart-based qualities. She began her yoga journey in 2008, and over time found deep flexibility and healing from injury through yoga. She earned her certification in 2015 has been teaching Hatha yoga professionally in her hometown of Philadelphia since 2016. As a former non-profit communications professional, Clio knows that life can be stressful, and it is precisely in those moments that we most need to connect to our breath, our hearts, and our bodies.
Clio is deeply grateful for the practice of yoga in her life and is honored to guide students in a spirited and strong alignment-based practice. Her students appreciate her natural warmth, nurturing qualities, and soothing voice. The scope of her teaching extends from mindfulness meditation practices to gentle, beginner, and mixed level classes and restorative workshops that encourage connection to the breath for deep relaxation to assisting advanced students undergoing teacher training. She also conducts office-based corporate yoga workshops and mindfulness and stress-reduction sessions.
Outside the studio, Clio loves the outdoors, especially the ocean, creating and appreciating art, cooking healthy meals, and dreaming of Italy, where she has studied, worked, and lived.
