At Experience Sicily we are keeping close tabs on the latest news in the travel industry and regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. It is with heavy hearts that we’ve cancelled all of our 2020 small-group tours.
We are in constant contact with our colleagues in Sicily, who report that businesses and sites are open and tours have restarted. Mask wearing inside and outside are obligatory. For a full explanation of the existing mandates visit the Visit Sicily website.
For us Americans, the question is not, is it safe to travel to Sicily? The question is, will Sicily allow us to travel there? At the moment, United States citizens are under a global travel restriction. We are discouraged from traveling, and the European Union will not allow U.S. passport holders to enter. Until the European Union and Italy see that our case count in the United States per 100,000 people is equivalent or less than their’s, we will not be permitted to enter Italy.
