Celebrate Saint Lucy In New York City

Now that the clocks have changed and the daylight is growing shorter here in the northeastern United States, I turn to Santa Lucia or Saint Lucy, the patron saint of light, to guide me. Her official feast day is December 13, which, before the change to the Gregorio calendar, was the date of the winter solstice. Pictured is her statue at the Church of Santa Maria delle Scale in Ragusa, Sicily.

I invite you to observe La Festa di Santa Lucia with us on Sunday, December 8 at 2PM in New York City at Cacio e Vino restaurant. Together, we’ll light up the season! We will enjoy a traditional Sicilian menu along with a raffle, short concert, and a discussion about Saint Lucy’s legends and the feasts’ customs.

This event is limited to 50 guests.
