In Cerda, Sicily Artichokes, Artichokes Everywhere

Live from Sicily! We mingled with the locals yesterday during the Sagra del Carciofo (Artichoke Festival) in Cerda, Sicily. Food, food, food… Music, dancing, shopping… Artichokes served every which way! Then, an afternoon in the enchanting Cefalù. It was la Festa della Liberazione. Liberation Day, recognizing Italy’s triumph over fascism after the second World War. Everyone was out and about!

The Artichoke Festival in Cerda is always on 25 April, which is a national holiday (Independence Day).

  2. What’s the best way to get to cerda for the artichoke festival and are there any places to stay there?

    1. Allison Scola says:

There aren’t hotels there, but it is close to Cefalù and Termini Imerese, which are both very interesting. Transportation is limited to local busses or hiring a driver if you don’t have a rental car.

  3. Is the artichoke festival in Rammaca a better choice?

    1. Allison Scola says:

I don’t know because I haven’t been to that one. Cerda is huge and extremely popular.

  4. Would you be able to plan a day trip with driver to cerda from cefalu for two people for the artichoke festival?

    1. Allison Scola says:

Yes, we can! Please send me an email at AllisonScola@ExperienceSicily.com, and we’ll make it happen.
