Etna Has Been Talking A Lot

Mount Etna has been talking to us consistently this year. She has said hello 50 times since February, which has led to her southeastern crater now extending a little over 11,000 feet above sea level, surpassing the northeastern crater’s height, which was the highest point for decades. Etna has four summit craters, now two that are consistently active.

We call her a mountain, but she is a living volcano that is constantly changing shape and size. When you come with us to Sicily, you’ll connect deeply to the power of Mother Nature and learn right on Etna’s slopes how she started as a submarine volcano 300,000 years ago and slowly grew through countless eruptions into the largest, most active volcano in Europe.
