Maria’s Crusty Bread At The Forno

Live from Sicily! Our hearts are sweeter after a full day with Pierfilippo of Val di Kam in the Sicanian mountains north of Agrigento. Pierfilippo introduced us to life in his village, Sant’Angelo Muxaro. We had cheese at Enzo’s caseificio. We tore through Maria’s crusty bread at the bakery. And the magical Aldo hosted us at his herb farm, where we lunched on edible flowers and hearty lentils. We completed the day with a return to San Biagio Platini to see the earth-inspired artistry of the Archi di Pane up close.

These mountains hold so much knowledge…
