The Duomo di San Giorgio in Ragusa was built in the 18th century in the late baroque Sicilian style, following the historic earthquake of 1693.

I always think how fancy and maybe overdone Baroque is, but then I see something like this Duomo and love it all over again. Such workmanship and beauty!
You are right! The Late Sicilian Baroque is sparse and elegant. This church is a classic example of that.
