Google in Agrigento

Those fortunate enough to have an in with Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, or who were invited as VIPs to attend the annual Google Camp, were at “the place to be” last night: Agrigento’s Valley of the Temples. For the third year in a row, Bill Gates (in cooperation with Google Camp) rented the UNESCO World Heritage Site for €250,000.00 to host a star-studded evening gala. A special laser light-show lit up the magnificent Temple of Concordia while rocker Lenny Kravitz performed for the exclusive audience that included Madonna, Elton John, Jovanotti, England’s Prince Harry, India’s Maharaja (i.e. King), a number of Saudi princes and a sultan, the chairman of Fiat Chrysler, John Elkann, and his brother, entrepreneur Lapo Elkann, and the managing director of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, to name a few of those present. The party has become a highlight of Google’s now-annual think-tank that takes place at the world-class Verdura Resort in Sciacca. In sum, Sicily is the place to be this summer!

Starting with the G7 in Taormina in May, and now Google Camp–don’t you want a piece of the action too? Contact me at AllisonScola@ExperienceSicily.com about touring Sicily with me this September, and you’ll be my VIP.
