As I mentioned over the past weeks, after years of working to change the city, the citizens of Palermo are embracing a Renaissance. In the April issue of Dream of Italy newsletter and blog, there are two articles I composed about the ancient port city: one about street food and why it’s a fantastic time to visit and the other about Palermo having been named the Capital of Culture for Italy in 2018. In the meantime, this photo, featuring the Vucciria market at night, illustrates how young people have taken back the city. The centuries old market has become an open-air night club after dark.
