Savoring Sicily, Day 9: The Light of Life

This evening, Day 9 of Savoring Sicily, we were in Cefalù, where we took a few moments to take in the beauty and tranquility of the UNESCO recognized cathedral. I’ve been in this church many times, but this evening, as the sun was going down, it felt more sacred to me. The mosaic of Christ Pantocrator glistened, making the Byzantine Greek inscription on the image (from the Gospel of John) even more meaningful: “I am the light of the world. Who follows me will not wander in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”
