Chatter While They Last

It’s Carnevale, and for all of the costumed festivities, which more often than not take place on the street, some hand-held sweets are in order. In and around Palermo, that means chiacchiere di Carnevale, pictured. Chiacchiere are a crunchy, sweet, fried dough powdered with sugar. Eat up! Because Tuesday, or Martedì Grasso, is your last chance to eat these “Chatter,” as they would be translated as, this year.
