Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny Was Filmed In Sicily

“Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” was filmed in Sicily in fall 2021. The day they shot this scene at the Ear of Dionysius, my tour group was scheduled to be at the Neapolis Archaeological Park in Siracusa too. Well, you can guess how that went! We explored the early Christian Catacombs instead, which was pretty neat.

Scenes of this blockbuster were filmed in Sicily in Siracusa, Cefalù, Segesta, and I think (with CGI, it’s hard to tell) over the beach at San Vito Lo Capo. I loved the scene when Indie meets (spoiler alert!) Siracusa’s favorite son, the mathematician, engineer, and inventor Archimedes. He’s pretty high on my list of “if I could meet anyone in history…” people. Lucky Indiana! What fun! The film is now available to stream in the comfort of your home. It’s entertaining, even though the Sicily scenes make no sense geographically, I had a great time watching it.
