From the Stormy Sea

You hear about it on the news. If you listen to international news, almost every day. Everyone has their reasons for seeking safety, security … life. And they risk their lives for life. And some don’t make it. And some are victimized by opportunists. I’m proud to say I know personally brave people in Sicily fighting for humanity. It makes me sad to say this is real. Sicilians don’t forget that their ancestors (my ancestors) were once seeking such safety, security, and life elsewhere. They are doing what they can to help. Even if it simply means giving the dead a proper resting place.
