Ustica is a dream! And it’s an island 32 miles or 52 kilometers off of the Sicilian coast from Palermo. Experience Sicily’s Evelina Buttitta lived on Ustica for two years, teaching Latin and Italian literature ans grammar in its public school. The single town on the island, depending on the time of year, has about 1000 residents. Evelina took this photo over the past weekend during the Ferragosto holiday when she and her family went to visit friends who are full-time residents. In addition to its wonderful lentils, Ustica is known for its clear waters and abundant marine life, making it an excellent place for snorkeling and SCUBA diving.
