Take the Long Way Around

I took “the long way around” today when I arrived in Sicily to see this view at Mongerbino. I have been to Sicily I think more than a dozen times (what’s the point of counting, anyway?). As I took in today’s gorgeous weather, moments with my family and friends, tastes and smells of the local specialties, and observations about the people around me, I thought, “This never gets old, no matter how many times I’ve been here.” I continue to keep a sense of wonder about Sicily–there is so much to ingest. So much beauty, history, culture, delicious food, profound people, modern issues and controversies to debate about… I could go on, but it’s 2 a.m. here, and I’m not doing a good job of getting through my jet-lag. Thank you for taking this journey with me. I love sharing it with you.
