Getting Around

Public transportation enables travelers to access the major cities in Sicily; However, renting a car is the most convenient option if you hope to visit mountain towns and some of the more remote archaeological sites such as Segesta and Selinunte. Travelling by car also enables you to stay at agriturismi (farm houses) and to have a more “off-the-beaten-path” travel experience. The autostrada system is modern and offers sweeping views of the region’s hinterland, while local roads are rife with curves and superb panoramas.
