Fratelli Mancuso, New-Traditional Sicilian Music

Posted by

Fratelli Mancuso are prolific singers and composers originally from Sutera in the province of Caltanissetta. To date, they have recorded 8 albums of original and traditional music inspired by the folk singing of Sicily. They have performed concerts all over Europe and Asia, and this month, as part of the theater piece “Rumore di acque” (Noise in the Waters), they are in the US. Last night I had the privilege of meeting Lorenzo (on the left) and Enzo (on the right) after years of being a big fan of their music. If you saw the film “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” they may be familiar to you because they acted in it and their compositions are a significant element of its soundtrack.
