Day 9 of 16 Days of Sicily | Get Dirty

When I was a child, my mother always dressed me in dresses, and I used to get into a lot of trouble because I liked to climb on everything (still do), run around in the mud (still do), dance in puddles (yup), … you get the idea. I used to get my dresses pretty dirty. As an adult, I still wear dresses (or skirts) a lot. And you know what? I still don’t care if I get them dirty because life is short! When I’m leading a tour in Sicily, I want you too to get dirty! I want you to walk on black, sandy ash when you’re on Mount Etna, put your hands in the flour when you’re making fresh pasta during our cooking class, and sing at the top of your lungs with Alfredo, Ettore, and Giampiero during “Vitti ‘na crozza.” This is living! And … There’s always another dress! (By the way, I usually tell you the day before what you may want to wear, based on the next day’s activities, so you’re very prepared.)

Allora, amunì (So, let’s go!)! Join Team Experience Sicily this weekend in New York City at the Jacob Javits Center, where we’ll be presenting at the Travel & Adventure Show. We’ll be at Booth 239, and you’ll have an opportunity to sing at the top of your lungs when we perform Vitta ‘na crozza and other Sicilian folk songs on the Global Beats Stage on Sat. at 3PM and Sun. at 11:30AM.
