Cooking in Sicily at the Foot of the Ancient Greek Temple of Himera|Stirring Sicily, Day 7

Live from Sicily!

While basking in the shade of the boughs of a loving tree, we prepared antipasti and pasta with mackerel and then fried up fresh frutti di mare while the staff of the archeological site of the ancient Greek city of Himera watched in awe. Chef Giuseppe Sciurca with the help of his amazing assistant Valeria Signorino created another outstanding day for our guests!

Our open-air corso di cucina was followed by time on our own in the enchanting town of Cefalu’. Father Son supplied amazing light and clear skies for exploring its medieval alleys and sipping a glass of chilled vino by the sea.

Yes, no doubt, all of this is wonderful, but truly, our guests for Stirring Sicily have been the greatest joy of all! Our group became a connected unit–friends for life! My heart is singing with the sounds of their songs, laughter, and emotions from having experienced Sicily in exactly the way I have always hoped we could create for our clients.

Thank you to Chef Antonino Elia for co-hosting this gem with me, and thank you to all of our local hosts for making this dream come true!
