Happy New Year! I’m making Sicilian-style lentil soup today. Lentils look like little coins, so Italians eat them to attract good fortune for the year ahead.
I am completely inspired now! I’m getting out my lentils right now – I’m all ready for a new pot of lentil soup. I put fresh tomatoes in mine, too! Little coins – I’d never thought of that. Southerners eat blackeyed peas for good luck – no idea why, but that’s where I come from, Southerners. Out West, cowgirls can do what they like!!!
