Black Lipstick… Sort of

image

In recognition of this week’s NY Times article, “In Sicily, Tasting Seafood with a Skeptical Son,” this intrepid traveler and writer wanted to share my love of black seppia ink/cuttlefish pasta with you all. It may not be for everyone, but for those of us who are adventuresome, the rewards are great! Travel encourages you to step out of your comfort zone. As your guide, I will coach you through each inspired step. Thank you to Anthony LoFaso for the photos. … And yes, my teeth and lips were black for the rest of the night!

Would like to try it! Does the black come off? Maybe need to plan this cuisine for Halloween!

    1. You have to be careful with the ink. It will stain. Wash it down with wine, and your teeth will be fine!

  2. Adorable pictures, Allison! You look ecstatic. If eating cuttlefish makes you that happy, maybe I should try it, too! 🙂

    1. You should definitely try it, but it has to be fresh. Otherwise, it’s not what it truly should be.
