September Means Grape Harvest

image

It’s September, and that means that depending on where they are, the grapes will be ready to be harvested for wine-making. Over the next few weeks, purveyors at Sicily’s finest vineyards will be working around the clock to capture the sun, earth, air, rain, and all of the flavors that have fueled the growth of this sacred fruit. Seeing this beautiful vineyard on the slopes of Mount Etna–Terrazze del Etna in Randazzo–will help you imagine why your DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata or Designation of Controlled Origin) wine from Mount Etna tastes as good as it does. (NB, This photo was taken at the end of June.)

Brilliant skies and lush landscape. So beautiful. Just pour the vino!

    1. Oh, and the vino… So special when you can see the place it was cultivated. When you bring it home, you are bringing the vineyard with you.
