The design of the Palazzina Cinese is an expression of an end-of-the-18th-century bent for everything Chinese. Designed by Giuseppe Patricolo, it possesses an odd combination of stylistic elements. After a lengthy renovation over the last decade, the “Chinese Pavillion” and its extensive, manicured gardens are open to the public.
What a beautiful and unique building! The colors and the designs of the ironwork (the grilles, the four-pointed stars) plus the painted designs are lovely. 🙂
Yes, without doubt an off the beaten path jem in Palermo! I love this place, and was so excited when it finally opened after the renovation.
